These substances can change with temperature and altitude, such as through fermentation or volatilization. When altitude or temperature changes occur, if suitable breathable products are not used, agricultural containers exposed to these environments may experience dents, swelling, or leakage. Trays may become dented. Labels may be damaged, leading to crucial safety information becoming unrecognizable. Consumers might come into contact with leaked chemicals, while agricultural packaging manufacturers could suffer from reduced production efficiency and customer dissatisfaction, resulting in decreased profits.
On the other hand, the contents of agricultural chemicals are complex; some water-based solutions contain certain chemicals that, when in extensive contact with the breathable membrane, can cause the membrane to lose some of its breathability. Some liquids are more viscous and, when adsorbed onto the breathable membrane for extended periods, can reduce or eliminate breathability. This necessitates that breathable products must not only be waterproof but also oil-resistant. Generally, breathable plugs or aluminum foil breathable gaskets are used.
